League of Legends Store Championship – January-February 2016

Here are the details of our Jan-Feb 2016 League of Legends store championship. If you have any questions, please drop by our shop or call us on (03) 8358 4899.

REGISTRATION
– Register your team of up to seven players (five mains and two subs) in store before midnight Saturday 9 January 2016
– To receive prizes, all summoners must register on Riot’s official page for the event BEFORE the tournament begins – no exceptions
– Feel free to print our Entry Form and hand it into the store with your entry fee

PRIZES
– 1st place: $200 store credit for the team to split + 3200 RP and a Triumphant Ryze skin for each of the five main team members
– 2nd place: $100 store credit for the team to split + 2400 RP for each of the five main team members
– 3rd place: 1600 RP for each of the five main team members
– 4th place: 800 RP for each of the five main team members
– 5th-8th place: four-win IP boost for each of the five main team members
– Highest placed team of under 17-year olds: $50 store credit for the team to split in addition to any other prizes won

STRUCTURE
– All games must be played on our PCs. This is to prevent hacking, griefing and higher ranked players to subbing in for usual team members. It also creates an electric tournament-like atmosphere for emerging teams to gain experience with live crowds.
– Games will be played as 5v5 Tournament Drafts on Summoner’s Rift, viewable in the shop

PRELIMINARY SWISS ROUNDS
– The ladder and pairings will be posted in store, on our website and in the Facebook group ‘PC Gamers @ PGS’ on Tuesday 12 January, 19 Jan, 26 Jan, 2 Feb
– Pairings for the first week will be chosen randomly. The following weeks will be bracketed by overall points/unplayed teams
– Teams have one week to play their two opponents on our PCs anytime we are open (Mon-Wed 10am-7pm, Thurs-Sat 10am-Midnight, Sunday 10am-5pm)
– Games can be arranged via our Facebook group ‘PC Gamers @ PGS’
– Receive three points for a win, one point for a loss, zero points for not showing up without trying to reschedule at least twenty-four hours prior
– Entrants will face eight opponents in total over a four week period with twenty-four points maximum

FINALS
– The top four teams on Sunday 7 Feb enter a best of three single elimination final with free computer use for matches
– 1st will play 4th and 2nd will play 3rd on Saturday 13 Febuary from 2pm
– The runner up teams will play a best of three single elimination at 2pm on Saturday 20 February
– The finalists will play a best of five single elimination on  Saturday 20 February from 5pm

TOURNAMENT RULES
– Teams must abide by Riot’s official tournament rules
– Players may use their own tournament-legal peripherals (keyboard, mouse, headphones)
– Teams causing a late start will need to remain within their base for one second per minute they are late
– A minimum of eight teams are required for the tournament to proceed, so spread the word!

COST
– $20 entry per team due on sign up
– $2p/h computer use fee to cover computer maintenance and internet usage (usually $4p/h). Unused time is saved on your account for future use
– Average cost per player in our last tournament was approximately $13 including the entry fee split between seven members. Actual cost depends on how many members are in your team and the length of your games
